Is Solar Power Right For You?

May 29th, 2010 by Owen Jones | No Comments | Filed in Wind Power

Until approximately a hundred years ago in the West, people only had recourse to renewable energy for heat and light for their homes. They burnt wood and sometimes coal or peat (OK, fossil fuels) and got up when the sun came up and went to bed with the sun too. In, fact a large part of the world’s population still lives like that.

May 17th, 2010 by Owen Jones | No Comments | Filed in Wind Power

When it comes to converting your home into a solar home, there are several options, because not all homes have the same problems, the same requirements or the same potential sustainable power sources. I am sure that you would like to come off the electricity grid. Who would not like to put a stop to those growing monthly bills? The trouble is that no one is stepping up to the plate to tell us how to do it. Politicians are just starting to ring the alarm bells even though they have known about the predicted oil shortage for decades – just as we all have.

There Is Life Off The Grid

It is almost high noon on the energy front. Oil, the substance that is used to create most of the world’s electricity is becoming too expensive to use to produce electricity for home consumption. Even if you think that there are lakes of oil left, which might be true, the main reason they have not been exploited yet is because it is too expensive to extract. The only thing that makes it a going concern is the high price of oil on the market.

What You Should Know Before You Get Home Solar Panels

May 2nd, 2010 by Owen Jones | No Comments | Filed in Wind Power

The replacement of conventionally created electricity with electricity generated from renewable or alternative resources is now a feasible alternative for many people in the Western world. The major stumbling block is the initial outlay, which is why solar electricity is still not a viable affair in most other, hotter, countries.

Free energy … What a dream, eh? One of the biggest household burdens is the cost of energy. The cost of energy is frequently 40% of total household bills. So, free energy would assist every family that is not rich a great deal. However, free energy is a pipe dream, is it not? There is alternative energy, that is non fossil fuel based energy, like nuclear energy, but that is not low-cost either.

The very life of every living thing on Earth is dependent on the Sun. Without the Sun, we would not have animal or plant life, which provides us with food and companionship. Without the Sun, we would have died out in former days, without the Sun these days, we may last a while, but it would not be much of a life.
